"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated." ~ Confucius
The other day (during the week of The Great Storm of 2014) I took morning coffee with a sculptor friend at the lovely Jackson Gallery in Fortuneswell. Friend had just moved house to the Isle of Portland that week. This was how she summed it all up:
'To be invigorated by the elements without having to board a flight ... hike up a mountain ... or drive hours in the car.....with the sea-dragon angry (and raging) it's like living in a series of masterpiece paintings without any frames.
Already the sunsets have been more than amazing!
I've had Turner, Blake and even Edward Hopper all hammering on my windows and doors today making it impossible to do anything remotely practical .... then listening to Bartok, Shostakovich and Bob Marley's rhythms coming off the sea at night.
All those negative ions from that mighty sea are proving to be both intoxicating and addictive.
I'm convinced that this place really is nature's prozac. How lucky are we?'
Yes, this place is wild. Sometimes weird too, yet often so, so Mindfully .... serene.
If you need a retreat; to calm, to make space, to chill, to breathe, to find your feet and step back for just a moment - then take the train (forget the car) and check-in to our local clin/otel... Emma and her team will blow your mind (....without any drugs!). No prescription required. It worked for the ailing King George 111 a mere 225 years ago and can work for you too today.
PS: (50 metres from your B+B bed, scuff your feet through the sandy foreshore at dawn (like King George before) then breakfast on natures fruits before climbing a mountain for lunch then wrestling a lobster for tea - all at Emma's B+B!)
(or .. thinks .. should that be Alice's restaurant/b&b?)
Just ask Agent doctor for a script. It's your life and ....
"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." ~ George Bernard Shaw
